NICK VANDERWAL

YOUTH ESPORTS INSTILLS LIFELONG VALUES & SKILLS

A native of Omaha, Nick VanderWal, XP League Omaha - Commissioner, has been an esports player for many years. While growing up, video gaming was one of many activities that interested Nick, but while at Millard West High School he improved his esports skill level significantly enough to become a collegiate League of Legends player for the University of Nebraska - Lincoln.

“At XP League, we’re taking children’s play and education where it has never gone before with a goal of helping today’s youth across all ages to learn, play and grow, while building confidence, social skills and sportsmanship through esports. This is a great opportunity for young players to become better players and better people, something I wish I had growing up as well as leading up to my time as a collegiate player,” says Nick.

Chris Kingsley

Chris Kingsley hails from Kearney, Nebraska and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Chris first got into gaming at the age of four when his two older brothers introduced him to a game called Runescape. Since then, he has developed a love and passion for gaming.

Over the years, gaming has been a resource for him to stay connected to friends and family. “I have been a coach and staff member for XP League Omaha since our grand opening. It has been a pleasure meeting all of our players and families as we continue to build and grow our XP League Omaha family. With years of experience working with kids, pairing that experience with video games and character development was a perfect match. Not only have I grown as a coach and person, it has been amazing to see our players do so as well."

As Member Experience Manger, Chris is responsible for introducing new families to XP League Omaha and ensuring that our team is serving our member families through meaningful experiences, impactful coaching and excellent organization. He can be reached at chris.kingsley@xpleague.gg.

WHO ARE WE?

XP League is an esports league that is modeled after classic youth sports organizations, making it easy for kids to understand our programming. Through coach and player training—that is custom-tailored by the PCA, Aim Lab, and our program directors—anyone can become a successful coach. No video game or esports experience required!

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a Coach to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children.

Our coaches are the lifeblood of our XP League. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and player engagement.

Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building life skills in young minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Commit to the principles of XP League

Create a positive and safe environment in which players can grow

Work with children to determine skill sets

Provide feedback to parents after working with players who did a Free Coaching Session

Clean site throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards

Report weekly to League Commissioner on progress

Report daily to League Commissioner with respect to daily activities and productivity in league

QUALIFICATIONS

Working history with children ages 7 and up

Experience working with the general public

Experience in teaching, mentoring or childcare

Works well with others; collaborates

Must be fun to work with and like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently

XP League’s professional coaches teach important skills such as sportsmanship and strategic thinking. Our gamer athletes experience all the benefits of being a part of a youth sports team. XP League is the first esports program to partner with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) to ensure that our coaches set the highest standard for competitive youth gaming.

ALL ABILITIES WELCOME

Our programs are designed to fit athletes at all levels. From recreational players to advanced competitive teams, all athletes receive the positive influence and guidance of our experienced coaches.

DOUBLE-GOAL CERTIFIED COACHES

Our coaches aren’t just focused on winning. They want their teams to learn important life lessons as well. Our partnership with PCA, and XP League’s proprietary coach training certification process, equip our coaches with the tools to coach better play while being positive role models for our athletes.

PLAY LIKE THE PROS

All our programs include pro-level game training on professional equipment. We’re the real deal even down to our jerseys.

ACCOUNTABLE, NOT ANONYMOUS

Our athletes are coached to respect the rules and their fellow players. Forget about that anonymous player hiding behind their avatar. We compete hard AND compete fair.

Participation in one of our competitive splits includes everything gamer athletes need to compete.

YEAR-ROUND ESPORTS

Our esports league supports four splits – each ending in a finale. We welcome new athletes to join anytime throughout the year. No need to wait for the beginning of the next split.
